RN saluting guns

Postby Pugwash on Sat Apr 21, 2012 10:21 pm

I have just discovered a very blurry photo of HMS Leopard taken in 1963 showing her with 4 Saluting guns fitted.
Pic is too small to give any details so has anyone got a photo of the old saluting guns - pretty sure theywere old Hotchkiss 3 pounders
with the barrels shortened on a small frame bolted to the deck.
Annoying thing is I saw a pic recently but I cant find it now. By the way discharged from hospital with a new hip but so full of painkillers
took me ages to type this message . Bit sore but all went well.Fantastic nurses
